Banbutsu, which means ‘all things under the sun’, is a small, home-based business that specializes in fun and whimsical clothing and blankets for babies and young children. Inspired by a true love of texture, colour, and little people, all creations are sewn primarily with upcycled/recycled or organic materials.

I am coming out of retirement for this market only! Some of you may know that last year's Owl Designer Fair was my grand finale, but here I am again! Full transparency...I haven't actually been making any new products, but I have a lot of leftover stock, which I'm hoping to find happy homes for at this market! We make teething accessories for tiny humans. Seems like there are quite a few of talented teething vendors out there so what sets us apart? Not only are we Mamas, we are also healthcare workers. I (Jade) am a Respiratory Therapist so tiny humans and tiny airways are kinda my thing! My business partner, Lindsay, is a Registered Nurse. We strive to take the utmost care in making our products stand out for not only being crazy affordable but also extremely well-made and safe. We are fully insured- which is a huge feet in the business of a high risk product. We’ve had to prove our product strength and durability to achieve this.

Double O Clothing

Double O Clothing creates unique handmade clothing for unique people!

Double O Clothing was created after Danielle saw a need for children’s clothing that were unique and of good quality materials. These pieces are made with the intention of being passed on to siblings.
In 2018, Danielle decided to expand to adult clothing with tops and undies. With an eye for detail and colours, Danielle creates clothing that stands out.

Dottie Handmade

Dottie Handmade creates new and upcycled, printed by hand apparel for the whole family. Eco-conscious t-shirts and onesies with prints inspired by nature and animals that parents can feel good about wearing, and that kids don’t want to take off!

Dottie also makes a line of upcycled kids clothing. Preloved textiles sre deconstructed, cut and assembled into new dresses, t-shirts and hoodies. Some have bright and fun colour pairings, some are screen printed with various mythical and magical creatures! Each one is a stand alone one-of-a-kind. Made from existing fabrics that are gentle on the earth, and built strong to last and be passed down.

Fun, beautiful, comfortable clothing for kids, made of natural fibres. Prints that inspire and spark imagination and explore the beauty of nature. Some adult styles also available.

From twirly rainbow dresses, and leggings to inspired nature prints, it has been a great pleasure to make memorable and lasting garments for your families. I will have some lovely new prints for the fall/holiday season. And some fun stocking stuffers and other gifts as well. I also have some gorgeous prints and solids for ladies tops and skirts!

Fun, functional, and eco-friendly! Tristen Weiss is the owner, designer, and maker at mirabeans. Using upcycled sweaters and other reclaimed textiles, mirabeans creates one-of-a-kind clothing and accessories for men, women, and children.

Her passion has always been sustainable fashion and a desire to create items not found in mainstream fashion. As a teen, she began transforming pre-loved garments into something new while creating as little waste as possible. This hobby slowly evolved into a business and she’s been converting ugly sweaters into timeless pieces ever since!

Her collection includes fingerless gloves, mittens, flip-top mittens, arm and leg warmers, hats, totes, decor and more. Each item is unique and handmade with attention to detail, colour, and originality.

I designed my line of Learn-To-Felt kits to share my love of felting with everyone. These fun and fabulous felting kits include everything you need, from the best felting wool to the fastest felting needle. I pack each kit with my hand-dyed wool so expect glorious variations in colour. All kits are designed for beginners, with easy to follow step-by-step instructions. Just carve a little time for yourself, or with a friend, and relax while enjoying the magic of turning wool fibres into cute little creatures. It really is so soothing (and a little addictive!) Stix N'Prick

Stix N’ Prick started with the making of Acorn Ornaments, the acorn caps were from my backyards and I had bucket loads of them, I knew I needed to do “something” with these beautiful objects. So I started felting shapes and next thing, acorns and acorn garlands were being make by the boat load. My kids were felting, and my friends were felting. From there I starting thinking about what else I could offer. I happen to have my great grandmothers collection of postcards that date back to 1884-1926. These cards are a work of art and for years have just sat in a book. I came up with the idea to photocopy these images and make them into reuse-able cards so that my families memories will continue to travel the world. I did this by gluing the photocopied image onto recycled wood from the Opera Scene Shop and painted the one side with black chalk paint. The idea is that the card is given as a gift or tag to a gift then in turn that person can write a new message on the chalkboard and pass it alone to someone else... and so on and so on!

One of my lost favourite things I make are little Decor Snow Trees. These come in five different sizes and can be bought as a single item or as part of a group. They are sweet and look fantastic on a Mantel, in your kids room, as a table centre piece or as your actual
Christmas tree for your house!

My Rattle Monster Felted Monster all are another huge hit with kids and animal folks!!! They are all one of a kind and all have Bells inside to make the “Rattle”

As a Props Builder for Pacific Opera Victoria for the past 26 years I love to create and transform shapes from one thing into something entirely different!

All of my creations are appliqued by hand with the ultimate goal of making people smile (or even laugh out loud!). Treasure Box

Treasure Box creative play kits are themed sensory/ playdough boxes for young children that invite endless opportunities for Imagination, creativity and open-ended play.

Treasure Box was born from my passion for creating beautiful, engaging and magical play invitations for young children. Through my early childhood education background, I’ve always loved providing children with sensory play activities, particularly play dough, as it invites endless opportunities for imagination, creativity and open-ended play.

Treasure Box bloomed in the spring of 2020, when covid 19 began, and I saw a need to provide parents and caregivers with something that would keep their children busy, engaged and stimulated during their time at home.

What’s inside a treasure box? Each treasure box is curated around a specific theme; dinosaurs, unicorns, under the sea, on the farm, construction and fairy garden are just a few of the themes I create. Each kit contains handmade, non-toxic playdough, animal or character figurines, and a whole bunch of magical bits and bobs, or what I like to call “loose parts”. I try to source and use as many up-cycled and pre-loved materials as possible.

Based in Victoria, Amy of Tree Fort Toys designs and creates purposeful wooden toys, games, and hands on learning materials that promote cognitive development and foster a lifelong love of learning.

After the birth of my daughter in 2014, and with a lifelong love of the natural world, I was inspired to create simple and beautiful toys for her out of natural materials. Family members and friends with little ones showed interest in what I was creating, and with their encouragement, my labour of love, Tree Fort Toys was born. Working out of my home in Victoria, BC, with my little product tester by my side, I design and create purposeful toys, games, and learning materials that promote cognitive development and foster a lifelong love of learning. I am filled with such joy knowing that like minded, eco-conscious families around the world are playing, exploring, learning, and having fun with toys and games that I have created!
